Friends of Chicago's Neighborhood Theatres

A City of Stories™

Contribute Money

Make a cash donation to support our marketing message. Your contribution will be used to help fund the production of our web videos. With your support, we can hire Chicago playwrights, pay Chicago actors, and spread the word about the Chicago theatre community. Friends of Chicago’s Neighborhood Theaters is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Contribute Your Voice

Every 2-3 months, we will post a new web video to our YouTube and Vimeo channels. We ask Chicago artists, theaters, and audiences to spread our message by sharing these videos on their social networks. If each member of our community commits to sharing at least twice per year, the message will reach hundreds of thousands.

So, celebrate your birthday and half-birthday by sharing one of our videos on your social media feed. Or, commemorate your biannual trip to the dentist. Or, salute the renewal of your license plate and city sticker. Choose any two days out of the year that you’d like, and spread the word about the amazing Chicago theater community.

Work With Us

For our videos, we commission monologues from Chicago area playwrights. We look for writers who are either living within 90 miles of Chicago, or who have significant professional history and ties to the Chicago area.

If you are interested in being considered for a monologue commission, please email us the following info:

1) name, phone number, e-mail, snail mail, & professional website
2) a bio which highlights your professional development in the Chicago area
3) a 10 page writing sample.
We produce our web videos under a SAG agreement. We cast all our actors & voice-over talent locally. Significant experience on Chicago area stages is a plus. Follow us on social media to be alerted to casting opportunities.
